FREE WILL - A SLAVE...

After much reluctance I am writing you in regard to an article contained in your August, 1981 issue of "The Banner of Love". The "Banner" title of the article, found beginning on Page 7 is "A Visit to the Oldest Primitive Baptist Church in U.S.A.". This attracted my attention quickly, since for the last ten years I have been pastor of what every historian who has written on the subject says is the oldest Primitive Baptist Church in America, Welsh Tract Old School Baptist.

INTRODUCTION

THE GENTLE READER may want to know the motive and aim of the author in offering this humble tribute to the brotherhood; therefore I may briefly say, the motive is neither ambitious nor selfish, but to glorify God; and the aim is, to both admonish and encourage His dear and loving children, especially the young soldiers of the Cross.

Cole – Dear Sister In Christ: – Your very interesting and good letter was indeed a pleasant surprise to me, and I am glad that you were enabled to write so much and so well, for it has been to my comfort. I can understand and enter into your feelings and sorrowful experiences, as expressed in your letter, and sympathize with you in those trials of faith.

FORGIVING MEANS FORGETTING...

CHRISTIAN OBEDIENCE...

Obedience is an obligation arising from existing relationship, and the nature of the relationship establishes the extent of the obedience. If a very limited relationship only exists, the obligation of obedience must be equally limited.

EXPERIENCE OF DAVID BARTLEY...

BORN AGAIN.
Fifty years ago this afternoon the holy Father gave me faith in Jesus, and revealed him to me as The Lord my Righteousness. This revelation banished all fear, and filled my soul, with perfect love and peace. It was a, new world to me, and the darkness was past.

GOD IS OMNIPOTENT AND ACTIVE...

GOD reveals himself as both omnipresent and omnipotent, the almighty, who tills immensity and inhabits eternity.

ASK FOR THE OLD PATHS...

PREDESTINATION...

Beloved Brethren: – Predestination is a prerogative of all intelligent beings, and God possesses it pre-eminently and infinitely, because he is infinite in all his perfections or attributes, while all others are finite and limited. But the Almighty is unlimited. These are primary and self-evident truths.

THIS IS ALL MY SALVATION...

“Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow” – 2 Sam. 23:5.

SACRIFICE ACCEPTABLE TO GOD...

The sacrifices which are acceptable unto God is a subject worthy of the earnest attention of the true worshippers; therefore I submit some thoughts upon it, trusting you will find them according to the testimony of the Lord.
