The Trial of Job - Elder Silas Durand

We have a limited time special on the above book.  Here is what Elder Poole wrote when we first republished it:

There are but a few books written on the subject of Job and fewer still that are worth the time it takes to read them. Welsh Tract Publications has now made available the finest work on Job that we know of anywhere.

On the Death of 2 Children - a poem by Elder Gilbert Beebe

We had never known of the sorrow, or the expression of it, that Elder Beebe had in 1833. This poem was published in the December 25, 1833, Signs of the Times.  One can feel the natural grief of the parent as well as the heavenly submission of the Saint to the will of Almighty God. Beebe makes no speculation on the eternal state of his offspring, but leaves it in the hand of him who "is too wise to err, too good to be unkind." Would that we all, in the midst of providences hurtful to the flesh and natural feelings, might be blessed with the same spirit as He had facing the loss of 2 children.  [RNL]

THE PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY

Introduction

Are the ten commandments the believer's rule of faith and life?

A SHORT, RADICAL, AND ORIGINAL SERMON BY THOMAS PAXTON, Of Greensburgh, St. Helena Parish La.

Publishers introduction: We present here the first article from the pen of Thomas Paxton which appeared in the "Western Predestinarian Baptist." We have removed a few commas, separated one long paragraph into two, modernized some spelling.  Italics and all caps are as in the original, as is most punctuation. If our brethren enjoy this we will include more of this brother's writings. Though we do not endorse every remark Bro. Paxton made in this article, in the main we are pleased with his original thoughts on a subject which we would do well to study more.

The Psalms in Meter by Isaac Watts

We now have a limited number of Singing the Psalms with Isaac Watts.  Its 270 pages contain an introduction on singing, Watts' paraphrase of all 150 Psalms, and a short biography of him.  We offer these at $5.00 per copy plus actual shipping.

Watts' Psalms are more like hymns than most of the other metrical psalms which preceded his.  Indeed, to call some of them Psalms might be considered a stretch, though they are beautiful poetry and, so far as we have examined them, full of sound doctrine.

Our stock of them is quite limited, but we offer them to our readers for their edification.
